Manavgat

Located 75 kilometers from Antalya, Manavgat is a coastal town in Pamphylia on the Mediterranean shore of Turkey. It lies almost between Antalya and Alanya and almost blends into Side, a historical holiday destination in Turkey. Nestled in the foothills of the Taurus mountains, Manavgat offers picturesque views of the lush green valleys and hidden waterfalls that can be explored on a jeep tour!

Known for surrounding waterfalls and exceptional natural views, Manavgat is a beautiful retreat for those who enjoy their vacations in the lap of nature. It has a 64 km long coastline with sandy beaches, a river and a waterfall, mountains and forests. The main highlight is the Manavgat River and the waterfall. Apart from swimming, you can take long walks in the forests or wander among ancient ruins. Even though Manavgat as a town does not offer much, tourists prefer it due to its proximity to surrounding lakes and waterfalls. It also provides urban facilities that nearby towns don’t.

The Manavgat river hosts many cruises daily to and fro Side, along with on-the-go swimming, food, and drinks. In addition, the ancient city of Lybre is located close to Manavgat, hosting Roman baths, Necropolis, mausoleums and Agora. Several isolated and spectacular beaches line the outskirts of Manavgat, which tourists can enjoy in solitude. The lovely Green Canyon Reservoir is a must-visit for nature lovers. It is situated 350 meters above sea level in a stunning alpine region. This area is extremely popular for its hiking trails. Another important place to visit in Manavgat is the Kulliye mosque, located close to the city centre; this is one of the largest mosques in the region.
